A Lancaster man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of cultivating a $5 million marijuana grow, just two days after making a court appearance in connection with a similar charge.

Abdul Jamar, 36, was arrested at about 9 a.m. on an isolated five-acre farm near 57th Street East, about a half-mile north of Avenue E. Police recovered about 1,000 plants, “some eight feet tall with five- to six-inch thick stalks that made them look like Christmas trees,” reports City News Service.

A deputy who arrested Jamar in June at a different farm visited Jamar’s new farm, located just six miles from the old one, Wednesday and became suspicious of the “festive trees” inside two 50-foot by 100-foot plywood enclosures.

The L.A. Times says the value of the plants is estimated at $4 million.

The U.S. Forest Service aided in removing the plants from the property.
